Styles and Encépagement

  • Blanc:
    • Principal Varieties (20-60% each): Baroque and Gros Manseng
    • Accessory Varieties (Max. 30% combined): Max. 10% Claverie, max. 10% Raffiat de Moncade, plus max. 20% combined Petit Manseng, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris
  • Rosé:
    • Principal Varieties (20-60% each): Cabernet Franc and Tannat
    • Accessory Varieties (Max. 30% combined): Max. 10% Merlot, plus max. 20% combined Cabernet Sauvignon and Fer
  • Rouge: As for Rosé

Assemblage

  • For all wines, both principal varieties must account for a combined min. 50% of the blend.  No single variety may exceed 60%.

Minimum Potential Alcohol

  • Blanc/Rosé: 11%
  • Rouge: 11.5%

Minimum Must Weight

  • Blanc/Rosé: 170 g/l (187 g/l for Gros Manseng and Petit Manseng)
  • Rouge: 180 g/l (198 g/l for Tannat)

Maximum Residual Sugar

  • Rosé: 4 g/l
  • Rouge: 3 g/l

Minimum Planting Density

  • 4,000 vines per hectare

Maximum Yield (Rendement de Base)

  • Blanc/Rosé: 60 hl/ha
  • Rouge: 55 hl/ha
