Summary

This estate was purchased by Beaune négociant Albert Bichot in 1971. They kept the same winemaking team, run by Gérard Vullien, until 2001 when Jean-Didier Basch succeeded him. The estate owns the monopole La Moutonne which lies in between the Les Preuses and Vaudésir Grand Cru. Today Mathieu Mangenot is manager and winemaker for the estate, he took over in 2007.

Style & Vinification Techniques

The estate says that they practice environmentally friendly viticulture. The grapes are hand-harvested for all of the Grands Crus and for the Montée de Tonnerre and Vaucopin. In terms of winemaking they call themselves non-interventionist winemakers. As for oak aging, 15% of the Premier Cru use neutral oak and between 10 and 30% of the Grand Cru are aged in neutral oak , sometimes with 1 to 2 new barrels. Some of the barrels are 350 L barrels, others are larger.
