Summary
Bodega Noemía takes its name from Countess Noemi Marone Cinzano, a Tuscan businesswoman whose family owned a glass business and vermouth label Cinzano. Until 2013, the countess also owned Tenuta di Argiano in Montalcino; her brother owns Col d’Orcia. Formed in 2001, Bodega Noemía is a partnership between Noemi Marone Cinzano and Danish winemaker Hans Vinding-Diers (cousin of Peter Sisseck of Pingus), who also made wine for Argiano. The project began with Cinzano and Vinding-Diers purchasing fruit from an old-vine, semi-abandoned vineyard in the remote province of Río Negro in Patagonia. In 2004, they purchased the property, which is now certified organic and farmed biodynamically.
Style & Vinification Techniques
Noemía’s estate vineyard is certified organic and farmed biodynamically. All grapes are harvested by hand and destemmed. Sorting by individual berry is performed manually. There is an emphasis on used oak during the aging process.
