Summary

Today, Terrazas de los Andes is one of Mendoza’s most recognizable producers. Yet the brand was not developed until the very end of the 20th century, when it was established by the French luxury firm LVMH. The property that is home to the winery facility, however, has a longer history. It was built by Sotero Arizu in 1898, then spent much of the following century under the ownership of Spanish Sherry and brandy producer Domecq, which operated a distillery onsite.

Shortly after the Terrazas de los Andes founding, in 1999, it formed a collaboration with Château Cheval Blanc in Saint-Émilion, called Cheval des Andes. Hervé Bernie-Scott and Nicolas Audebert lead the Terrazas de los Andes winemaking team.

Style & Vinification Techniques

All wines in the Parcel, Single Vineyard, and Reserva series are harvested from estate vineyards. Grapes are sorted on a conveyor belt and destemmed prior to fermentation. The Parcel and Single Vineyard wines are aged entirely in new French oak barrels.
