Summary
Pierluigi Talenti (who also worked as winemaker for Il Poggione from 1959 until his passing in 1999) founded this estate in 1980. Today his son Riccardo runs the estate and makes the wines. Riccardo has expanded the estate’s production to include two Toscana IGT blends in addition to the Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino wines.
Style & Vinification Techniques
Grapes are hand-harvested, hand-sorted and de-stemmed. Fermentation is in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for 20-25 days. Wines are aged in a mix of French and Slavonian oak of varying sizes, and typically aged an additional year or more in bottle before release.
