Summary

Andrea Cortonesi’s family had worked land in the Castelnuovo dell’Abate area for years, and when an old farmhouse with land became available for purchase in 1986, Andrea bought and restored the property. He kept the original name, Uccelliera (“bird house”), as well as the original olive trees out of respect for the land and environment, though he also added a cellar and planted new vineyards. Organic farming is practiced.

Style & Vinification Techniques

Andrea allows spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.
