Summary
Martini Bramante purchased the estate and founded Valdicava in 1953. For several years, Bramante sold grapes to other wineries before bottling his first Brunello Valdicava in 1968. He was also a founding member of the Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino. In 1987, Bramante’s grandson, Vincenzo Abbruzzese, began working in the vineyards and cellar; he has since taken over the estate. The vineyards are farmed organically, and only Sangiovese is grown.
Style & Vinification Techniques
Wines are fermented and aged in large, Slavonian oak botti.
