Summary
Croft, part of the Fladgate Partnership, is one of the oldest Port houses and can trace its company history back to 1588. Croft is known primarily for its Vintage Port and aged Tawny Port—and more recently, its Single Quinta from Quinta da Roêda. A new winery was built at Quinta da Roêda in 2002, and the house was the first to introduce the concept of Rosé Port with Croft Pink in 2008.
Style & Vinification Techniques
The Croft house style is full, generous, and structured. Most wines are fermented in modern fermentation tanks known as “Port-Toes” that were designed by Taylor Fladgate and Yeatman’s winemaking team to emulate traditional crushing by foot. The Vintage and Single Quinta Port are still tread by foot in traditional lagares.
