Summary
Bodegas Tradición is a relatively young bodega that is known for their unique and exclusive focus on very old wines. They began with four main wines, one of which is VOS and the others all VORS. Billionaire Joaquín Rivero Valcarce, who had family connections to Jerez winegrowing dating back to the 1800s, officially established the house in 1998. He hired several experts in the field to help him begin acquiring high-quality older wine, allowing the house to release older wines from the start. All offerings were old, quality wines that were vintage dated or from very old soleras, until they released their first Fino in 2013.
Style & Vinification Techniques
The wines are bottled unfined and minimally filtered (if at all) with no cold stabilization. They are bottled, labeled, and individually numbered by hand. The Tradición Fino is bottled en rama at an average age of around 12 years of age.
