Summary

Irishman William Garvey founded Garvey Wine Cellars in 1780 and built the bodega into one of the major houses of Jerez in a short period of time. William and Patrick Garvey preferred Fino and Amontillado wines and were the earliest to successfully ship the styles from Jerez (previously Oloroso usually blended with Pedro Ximénez was the most prominent export). Today Garvey is part of a much larger company, Grupo Garvey and produce vinegars, brandy, liqueurs, and vodka.

Style & Vinification Techniques

Grupo Garvey specializes in a large production and wide range of Sherry. The wines age for and average of five years before release. The Sacrista line was originally reserved for family but is now released in limited production and make up their finest examples. The Palo Cortado Jauna comes from a solera started in 1817.
