Summary
Vincente Romero Carranza established Bodegas Pedro Romero in 1860. His three sons (Vicente, Baldomero and Pedro) continued production as “Sons of Vicente Romero Carranza” after his death in 1890. In 1904, Pedro purchased the entire winery from his brothers. He gave their top Manzanilla the name Aurora to honor his wife. Today the winery remains family-owned with the same location near the Atlantic Ocean and the Guadalquivir River, closer than any other Sherry bodegas in Sanlúcar.
Style & Vinification Techniques
Pedro Romero is known for their classic, traditional examples of Manzanilla wines. All of wines are made using the traditional Solera system: 600L casks made from American white oak, used for 80-100 years. The bodega has over 10,000 casks for aging its wines.
