Summary

Antonio Barbadillo is the largest producer in Sanlúcar, but the house continues to be run entirely by the family, now in the 7th generation. Cousins Don Benigno and Don Manuel Barbadillo founded the house in 1821 when the two purchased a bodega, known today as Bodega del Toro, and Benigno set about exporting wines to UK and the Americas. In 1827 they launched the first bottled brand, Divina Pastora. In 1934 the winery was renamed after Antonio Barbadillo for significantly expanding the business. They were the first to bottle Manzanilla en rama in 1999, bottling four sacasper year – one during each season.

The house maintains a very large stock of Palo Cortado, with over 120 casks.  Despite their production and large stock, only 40 bottles each of their Reliquia line are released each year, and table wines make up a majority of their business today. Today, the cellar operates under the guidance of Montse Molino.
