Summary

Situated in southern Chianti Classico, Castell’in Villa was purchased by Principessa Coralia Pignatelli della Leonessa and her husband in 1968. They planted additional vineyards and updated the property, producing their first vintage in 1971. The estate has remained committed to a traditional approach and is known for its ageworthy wines. The property itself is 298 hectares, with 54 hectares of vineyards alongside olive groves and forests.

Style & Vinification Techniques

All wines are fermented in stainless steel tanks, typically with indigenous fermentation. The traditional Chianti Classico and Riserva are aged in mature French and Slavonian large barrels. New barriques are employed for the rest of the wines.
