Summary

Daniel Dampt joined his estate with that of his wife’s father, Jean Defaix. They are located in the small village of Milly that lies directly south of the Côte de Léchet Premier Cru. Daniel is joined by his sons, Vincent and Sebastien. In 2002 the domaine built a state of the art winery fit with temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Sebastien and Vincent both have their own domaines as well, both based out of Milly.

Style & Vinification Techniques

The vines of the estate are between 20 and 30 years old and are planted at a density of 5,000 vines per hectare. They ferment their wines in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, and allow the wines to go through malolactic fermentation. The wines are aged in stainless steel and are fined and filtered before bottling. The two Grand Cru wines made by Maison Dampt are aged partialy in wood.
