Summary
While Françis Tête, a barrel-maker and cellar-manager in Beaujolais, officially founded the estate, it was formally established as the Domaine du Clos du Fief in 1988 by his grandsons, Michel and François. The domaine is more commonly referred to as Michel Tête.
Style & Vinification Techniques
Grapes are hand-harvested and undergo semi-carbonic fermentation in stainless steel with daily remontage. The “Cuveé Prestige” ages in in equal parts stainless steel and cask (five years old or less) for six to eight months before filtration and bottling.
