Summary

Manfredi Martini purchased the Il Paradiso property in the early 1950s and founded the estate with his wife, Fortunata, in 1959. Manfredi was known for being an original founder of the Brunello Consorzio as well as for his traditional, hands-off winemaking approach—which he learned while working for Biondi Santi, and which is still practiced by his family today. Since Manfredi’s passing in 1982, the estate has remained completely family-run. His daughter, Rosella, and her husband, Florio Guerrini (both retired teachers) manage all aspects of the estate, from winemaking to vineyard management and sales, along with their two daughters. Farming is organic though not certified.

Style & Vinification Techniques

Grapes are hand-sorted before being crushed and de-stemmed, then gravity-fed into resin-lined cement tanks. Fermentation begins with indigenous yeasts. The must is then pressed in a modern, hydraulic press and gravity-fed into large Slavonian oak botti where the wines aged as outlined above. Wines are again gravity-fed for bottling with small amounts of sulfur added.
