Summary

Jean Dutraive purchased Domaine de la Grand’Cour in 1969, and his son Jean-Louis joined in 1977 before taking over entirely in 1989. The heart of the domaine’s property is in the lieux dits of Clos de la Grand’Cour and Chapelle des Bois in Fleurie, surrounding the cellar. The vineyards were certified organic in 2009.

Style & Vinification Techniques

Grapes are hand-harvested and placed in temperature-controlled tanks. Wines undergo carbonic maceration with indigenous yeasts and no sulfur before being gravity-fed in equal parts into cement tanks, old foudres and used Burgundy barrels for aging. Minimal sulfur is added during élevage, and a small amount is added when the wines are racked and bottled; wines are almost never fined or filtered.
