Summary
Claude-Emmanuelle Desvignes and her brother Louis-Benoit are the eighth generation to work their vines, having taken over in 2001. They began organic farming in 2004 but are not certified. The two carry on their father’s style of winemaking in a more Burgundian fashion rather than employing traditional Beaujolais vinification, aiming for wines with more tannin and ageability.
Style & Vinification Techniques
Grapes are hand-harvested and go through partial (50%) de-stemming. The juice is inoculated with a starter yeast native to Morgon and ferments in stainless steel tank, followed by nine to 12 months of aging in concrete tanks.
