Summary
Another relative newcomer to the Australian wine stage, Luke Lambert worked three vintages in Italy, including two in Barolo before breaking out on his own. His wine style is influenced by his European work and travels, which is especially seen in his Yarra Valley Nebbiolo. All wines are sourced from single vineyards in poor, rocky, elevated pockets of the Yarra Valley and are known for their “old world” style within Australia: moderate alcohols, whole cluster maceration for his Syrah, and aging in large format neutral oak.
Style & Vinification Techniques
Syrahs are fermented with 20-40% whole clusters by indigenous yeasts. No new oak is used for the wines, the Nebbiolo is aged in neutral puncheons, and the Syrahs age in 30-year old large format oak. Wines are not fined or filtered prior to bottling.
