Summary

Early accounts of the Poggio Antico estate date to the early 1800s, but it wasn’t until the 1970s that vineyards were planted and a cellar was installed. In 1984, Giancarlo and Nuccia Gloder (originally from Milan) purchased Poggio Antico, and since 1987 their daughter Paola has managed the estate. Her husband came on in 1998, and today the couple runs the estate together with the assistance of vineyard manager Claudio Ferretti.

Style & Vinification Techniques

Grapes are hand-harvested, then sorted, de-stemmed and sorted again. Fermentation occurs in open-top, conical, temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with manual punch-downs. Wines age in Slavonian oak and 500-liter French barrels.
