Summary

Beginning in 1988 with Bodegas Etchart in Salta, French winemaker Michel Rolland became one of the most influential figures in Argentina’s recent wine history. Serving as winemaker and consultant for several top Mendoza estates, Rolland supported Argentina’s transition into a fine wine-producing industry with global export power. While continuing to consult, Rolland owns several wineries in Argentina collectively referred to as Bodega Rolland, or the Rolland Collection. His projects include Mariflor and Val de Flores in Mendoza, as well as Yacochuya in Salta, a joint venture with Arnaldo Etchart. Additionally, Rolland conceived of and organized Clos de los Siete, a collaborative label of neighboring properties in Tunuyán (including Mariflor) blended into a single wine by Rolland. He also established Eno Rolland, a research lab in Mendoza.

Style & Vinification Techniques

The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo alcoholic fermentation in a variety of vessels. Malolactic conversion is performed in French oak barrels.
