Summary

Elio Grasso produces wines exclusively from estate owned grapes. They farm 18 hectares of vineyard in the Monforte commune of Barolo.  Since 1978, they have separately vinified and bottled the grapes of various vineyard plots, resulting in a selection of top quality fruit.  In addition to growing Nebbiolo for their Barolos, they also grow Barbera, Dolcetto, and Chardonnay.

Style & Vinification Techniques

With the exception of the Chardonnay which is fermented in barrique, all wines are fermented in temperature control stainless steel with daily pumpovers.  The  Rüncot is aged in new, French barrique, while the other two Barolos are aged in 25 hl Slavonian oak.
