Summary
Tenuta Marsiliana is owned by the Corsini family of Villa le Corti in Chianti Classico. The family’s history in Tuscany dates back to the 11th century, with many prominent positions held throughout the region. Notably, Lorenzo Corsini became Pope Clemente XII in 1730. Acquired in the 1800s, Tenuta Marsiliana is a sprawling estate in the southern Maremma close to the Lazio border. The 3,000-hectare property is a mix of wild forests, organic farms, and pastures alongside a few villas and the winery.
Style & Vinification Techniques
All reds are fermented in open-top stainless steel tanks with ambient yeasts. The whites are fermented in sealed stainless steel tanks with cultured yeast. The oak program is straightforward: at least 75% new barriques for the top wine, then a rotation of used oak for the remaining reds. Production here is dwarfed by the Villa le Corti estate in Poggibonsi.
