Styles and Encépagement

  • Blanc: Min. 50% combined Grenache Blanc and Vermentino; max. 10% combined Marsanne, Viognier, and Piquepoul Blanc; plus Clairette, Roussanne, and Ugni Blanc
  • Rosé: 
    • Principal Varieties: Min. 70% combined Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault
    • Accessory Varieties: Max. 10% combined Mourvèdre and Téoulier (Manosquin); max. 10% combined Marsanne, Viognier, and Piquepoul Blanc; max. 20% total white varieties (Roussanne, Clairette, Marsanne, Grenache Blanc, Piquepoul Blanc, Vermentino, Viognier, and Ugni Blanc) 
  • Rouge: 
    • Principal Varieties: Min. 70% combined Grenache (min. 15%) and Syrah (min. 30%)
    • Accessory Varieties: Max. 10% combined Mourvèdre and Téoulier; plus Carignan, Cinsault, and a max. 10% combined white varieties 

Assemblage

  • Blanc: Vermentino and Grenache Blanc must be present in the blend.
  • Rosé: Principal varieties must account for the majority of the blend.  Wines may be produced from a single variety.
  • Rouge: Principal varieties must account for the majority of the blend.

Minimum Potential Alcohol

  • Blanc/Rosé: 11.5%
  • Rouge: 12%

Minimum Must Weight

  • Syrah, White Grapes and Other Red Grapes destined for rosé wine: 187 g/l
  • Other Red Grapes for rouge wine: 198 g/l

Maximum Residual Sugar

  • Blanc/Rosé: 4g/l
  • Rouge: 3g/l (4g/l if potential alcohol is above 14%)

Minimum Planting Density

  • 4,000 vines per hectare

Maximum Yield (Rendement de Base)

  • Blanc: 60 hl/ha
  • Rosé/Rouge: 55 hl/ha
