Grapes Varieties

  • Bianco/Spumante/Passito Bianco:
    • min. 85% Malvasia bianca di Basilicata,
    • max. 15% combined other non-aromatic white grapes suitable for cultivation in Basilicata region.
  • Rosato/Spumante Rosé:
    • min. 90% Primitivo,
    • max. 10% combined other black grapes suitable for cultivation in Basilicata region.
  • Rosso:
    • min. 60% Sangiovese,
    • min 30% Primitivo, 
    • max. 10% combined other non-aromatic black grapes suitable for cultivation in Basilicata region.
  • Moro/Moro Riserva:
    • min. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon,
    • min. 20% Primitivo,
    • min. 10% Merlot, 
    • max. 10% combined other non-aromatic black grapes suitable for cultivation in Basilicata region.

Minimum Total Acidity

  • Bianco/Varietal Greco/Rosato/Spumante/Spumante Rosé: 5 g/l
  • Rosso/Moro/Moro Riserva/Primitivo: 4.5 g/l
  • Passito Bianco/Primitivo Passito: 4 g/l

Aging Requirements

  • Rosso/Moro/Primitivo: Wines must be aged for a min. 12 months from November 1 of the year of harvest.
  • Moro Riserva: Wines must be aged for a min. 36 months, including min. 24 months in cask, from November 1 of the year of harvest.

Minimum Planting Density

  • 3,300 vines per hectare

Maximum Yields

  • 10 tons/ha
