Grape Varieties

  • Bianco:
    • 60-65% Fiano,
    • 20-30% Trebbiano Toscano,
    • 10-15% combined Greco and/or Malvasia Bianca,
    • max. 10% other grapes suitable for production in Salerno.
  • Rosato:
    • 70-80% Sangiovese,
    • 10-15% Aglianico,
    • 10-15% combined Primitivo and/or Piedirosso, 
    • max. 10% other grapes suitable for production in Salerno.
  • Rosso:
    • 60-75% Aglianico,
    • 15-20% combined Primitivo and/or Piedirosso, 
    • max. 10% other grapes suitable for production in Salerno.

Minimum Alcohol

  • Bianco/Rosato: 11%
  • Rosso: 11.5%
  • Fiano/Aglianico: 12%

Minimum Total Acidity

  • 5 g/l

Aging Requirements

  • Aglianico: Wines must be aged for 1 year from November 1 of the year of harvest.
  • Aglianico Riserva: Wines must be aged for min. 3 years, including min. 2 years in cask, from January 1 on the year after harvest.

Maximum Yields

  • 10 tons/ha

Elevation

  • Max. 450 meters (except for the commune of Moio della Civitella where it is max. 550 meters)
