Clos de la Maréchale

9.55 ha JF Mugnier, monopole From 1950 through the end of their long-term lease in 2003, Faiveley produced this wine. It is the largest monopole in the Côte d’Or, and the southernmost Premier Cru in the appellation. In addition to Premier Cru red and white bottlings, Mugnier produces a declassified village red wine from this site, Clos des Fourches.
  Origin of Name: An army brigadier (maréchale de camp) inherited this vineyard in 1863; prior to that it was known as the Clos des Fourches. Executions occurred at this site during the second French Empire (1852-1870).
 
Clos des Porrets-Saint-Georges

  Origin of Name: „Porrets“ has the same origin as poirier, or „pear tree.“
 
Clos Saint-Marc

0.93 ha Michèle et Patrice Rion, monopole This vineyard is also known as Aux Corvées. Despite acquiring the vineyard in 2003, Rion produced the domaine’s first vintage from the vineyard in 2006; in the interim they sold the Clos Saint-Marc fruit to Bouchard.
  Origin of Name: The vineyard was located next to the Church of Saint Marcel.
 
En la Perrière Noblot

0.30 ha Alain Michelot, monopole Most of this 2.5 ha vineyard site is classified as village AOP. Michelot is the sole owner of the Premier Cru section, and in 2008 he replanted the entire vineyard with Chardonnay.
  Origin of Name: „Perrière“ derives from carriere, or „quarry.“ Noblot was the historic owner of the quarry.
 
Les Argillières

4.44 ha Michèle et Patrice Rion, Prieuré-Roch, Bertrand Ambroise The majority of this vineyard (4.22 ha) is known as the Clos des Argillières, and small slivers of vineyard (0.22 ha) outside of the walled portion are typically known Les Argillières. The former is much more common on labels.
  Origin of Name: „Argillières“ derives from argille, or „clay.“

Les Crots

4 ha   Les Crots 1er Cru is composed of the 2.8 ha monopole Château Gris and the 1.2 ha Les Crots itself. There is an additional 1.67 ha of village AOP land in the vineyard.
  Origin of Name: „Crots“ derives from creux, meaning „hole“; possibly referring to the vineyard’s steep location overlooking a combe.
 
Les Damodes

8.55 ha Faiveley, Philippe et Vincent Lécheneaut, Henri et Gilles Remoriquet Nearly half of the vineyard’s 8.55 ha is actually classified as village AOP.
  Origin of Name: Like „Bonnes Mares“, some suggest „Les Damodes“ evokes an ancient sculpture of a trinity of goddesses – Druids, in this case, believed to influence the harvest.
 
Les Didiers

2.40 ha Hospices de Nuits, monopole This is the northernmost Premier Cru site in Premeaux-Prissey, adjacent to the southern border of Les St-Georges. There are three cuvées: the old vine „Cuvée Fagon“, the young vine „Cuvée Cabet,“ and a blend of the two, „Cuvée Jacques Duret.“
  Origin of Name: Didier was a historic owner of the site.
 
Les Hauts Pruliers

0.40 ha Daniel Rion This vineyard is actually about 4 ha in size, but only 0.40 ha are classified as Premier Cru.
  Origin of Name: „Prulier“ is a synonym for prunier, or „plum tree.“

2.47 ha Jean Chauvenet, Robert Chevillon, Méo-Camuzet, Henri Gouges Henri Gouges produces white wine from his „Pinot Gouges“ in this vineyard.
  Origin of Name: „Perrières“ indicates a quarry, or stones (pierres).

0.91 ha Michèle et Patrice Rion, Daniel Rion, Bertrand Ambroise, Domaine des Perdrix This vineyard site was a forested area prior to the 1980s. In 1985, „Terres Blanches“ was promoted directly from Bourgogne AOC to Premier Cru status, leapfrogging village level. Most of this vineyard is planted with Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc.
  Origin of Name: The vineyard takes its name from its white limestone soils.
