Aging Requirements

  • All Spumante Wines: If these wines are made by ‚metodo classico‘ they must be aged for min. 20 months from October 1 of the year of harvest.
  • All Passito Wines: Wines may be released June 1 of the year after harvest.
  • Aglianico Liquoroso: Wines may be released October 1 of the year following harvest.
  • Campi Taurasini: Wines must be aged for min. 9 months from November 1 of the year of harvest.

Additional Requirements

  • All Spumante wines may be Brut or Extra Brut only.
  • New plantings are forbidden to be planted horizontally.

Minimum Planting Density

  • 2,400 vines per hectare

Maximum Yields

  • Bianco/Rosado/Rosso/Rosso Novello: 13 tons/ha
  • All Varietal Wines/All Spumante Wines/All Passito Wines/Liquoroso: 12 tons/ha
  • Campi Taurasini: 11 tons/ha

Elevation

  • Maximum 600 meters
    • This limit does not apply to vineyards that also can be used for Fiano di Avellino DOCG, Greco di Tufo DOCG, Taurasi DOCG, or the Iripinia DOC Campi Taurasini subzone.
