    • max. 40% other black varietals approved for production in Calabria.
  • Spumante:
    • min. 85% combined Greco Bianco and/or Mantonico,

Minimum Alcohol

Minimum Total Acidity

  • Spumante/Spumante Rosato 5 g/l
  • All other styles: 4.5 g/l

Aging Requirements

  • Rosso Riserva: Wines must be aged min. 18 months, including min. 12 months in wood and min. 6 months in bottle, from December 1 of the year of harvest.
  • Spumante/Spumante Rosato: Wines must be made by the traditional method (metodo classico), and must spend min. 9 months on the lees.

Minimum Planting Density

  • 4,000 vines per hectare

Maximum Yields

  • Bianco/Gaglioppo/Greco Nero/Mantonico: 12 tons/ha
  • Rosato/Rosso: 11 tons/ha
  • Greco Bianco/Rosso Riserva/Spumante/Spumante Rosato/Passito: 10 tons/ha
