Grapes Varieties

  • Bianco:
    • min. 70% combined Trebbiano Abruzzese and/or Trebbiano Toscano,
    • max. 30% combined other non-aromatic white grapes suitable for cultivation in Abruzzo region.
  • Rosso:
    • min. 95% Montepulciano,
    • max. 5% combined other non-aromatic red grapes suitable for cultivation in Abruzzo region.

Minimum Alcohol

  • Bianco: 12%
  • Rosso: 12.5%

Minimum Total Acidity

  • 4.5 g/l

Aging Requirements

  • Bianco: Wines may be released January 1 on the year following harvest.
  • Rosso: Wines may be released March 1 on the year following harvest

Minimum Planting Density

  • 2,500 vines per hectare
  • Pergola Abruzzese: 1,600 vines per hectare

Maximum Yields

  • 14 tons/ha
