Episode 448 – Northern Rhône with Laetitia Terry from Jaboulet
Laetitia Terry, sommelier at Jaboulet, talks to us about the Northern Rhone looking at the soils, climate and aspect of vineyards in Cote Rotie, Condrieu (white wine/Viognier only) and St Joseph (white or red appellation). We finish the interview talking about the fine wine region of Crozes-Hermitage and a lesser known region Cornas, located further south which is 100% Syrah. The vineyards are much higher up, as high as 420m altitude, the wines are dark, full-bodied and powerful, known locally as ‚the hunter wine‘ after the tradition for hunting in the region.
