Jean-Claude’s family has been growing grapes in the Languedoc since early 1900’s when his great grandfather had just 9 hectares of vines.

Development began after the first world war in the 1920’s and again after the second world war. In 1954 the original property was sold, moving to the current site. The 1970s saw a major change in wine consumption (from blue collar to white collar workers) and the family began exporting wine. During the 1980s and 1990s the focus was on mass production – high yields, high volume – but today more appellation wines of higher quality are being made. Languedoc remains the biggest wine region in France, producing 11 million hectolitres, albeit down from its peak of 30 million.
